HJR35 Summary

• Honors all first responders including firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency medical personnel in the cities of Dothan and Ozark and counties of Dale and Houston.

• Recognizes the ASF Foundation's 35th Anniversary in 2017 and its role in awarding $290,210 in academic scholarships while promoting health, academics, athletics, and citizenship.

• Designates June 9, 2017 as First Responder's Day, coinciding with the Opening Day of the 2017 Alabama State Games XXXV.

• Plans a televised Opening Ceremony tribute at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds in Dothan where eligible first responders will receive the ASF Foundation Honor Our Heroes Distinguished Service Medal.
