• Creates the Alabama Commission on Child Protection to review state laws and procedures regarding child safety on the Internet and electronic communications devices, and recommend improvements including filtering methods and monitoring technologies.

• Commission membership includes 16 members comprising legislative leaders, state agency directors, appointed specialists (pediatrician, child psychologist), education representatives, Internet Service Provider and mobile phone manufacturing representatives, and civil liberties organization representatives.

• Appointing authorities must coordinate appointments to ensure the commission reflects the state's racial, gender, geographic, urban, rural, and economic diversity.

• Commission shall hold first meeting by August 1, 2017, and submit written findings and recommendations to the Legislature by the fifth legislative day of the 2018 Regular Session, at which point the commission is dissolved.
