Recognizes the National Center for Asphalt Technology at Auburn University for its service to Alabama.

Center was created in 1986 in partnership with the National Asphalt Pavement Association Research and Education Foundation to provide research and development for highway infrastructure maintenance.

Center generates more than $125 million in annual economic development impact to Alabama and attracts several million dollars in outside research funding each year.

Center's test track has driven over 8 million miles of heavy traffic and research resulted in 18 percent thinner pavement designs, saving Alabama an estimated $40 million per year.

Resolution offers highest tribute to the center's staff, researchers, and leaders for advancing safe, durable, and sustainable asphalt pavements and transportation infrastructure.
