Recognizes Hobson, Alabama, located in Washington County, on its 200th Anniversary in 2017.

Named in honor of Admiral Richmond Pearson Hobson of the Spanish-American War and a United States Representative from Alabama, the community was established in 1817 and lies just east of Chatom.

Economic growth in Hobson was primarily driven by the logging industry and the McClure Lumber Company of Mobile, Alabama, with camp houses and a commissary built for employees.

Representative Elaine Beech, who sponsored the resolution, has deep connections to Hobson, having lived there for 20 years and raised her family there.
