Recognizes Dr. Lynn Hammonds on being named President of the Southern Council of Optometrists, the world's largest conference for optometrists and staff.

Dr. Hammonds has served the Southern Council of Optometrists in roles as Trustee, Treasurer, and Vice President.

Dr. Hammonds has been a board-certified eye-care practitioner for EyeCare Associates in Hoover, Alabama since 1996, and served as president of the Alabama Board of Optometry and Alabama Optometric Association.

Dr. Hammonds is a recipient of the Young Optometrist of the Year Award, Optometrist of the Year Award, and the 2012 Alumna of the Year Award from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry.

The House of Representatives honors and commends Dr. Lynn Hammonds for her leadership and dedication to the field of optometry.
