Governor Robert Bentley created the Alabama Consumer Credit Task Force on June 14, 2016, by Executive Order 21 to study and identify areas for revision regarding consumer credit laws.

Task force was required to analyze consumer credit laws and report findings and recommendations to the Governor by January 30, 2017.

Task force comprised of 33 experts appointed by various stakeholder organizations formulated suggested policy changes to address ambiguity and uncertainty in consumer credit laws and provide clear guidance to Alabama consumers.

House of Representatives commends the members of the Governor's Alabama Consumer Credit Task Force for their diligent service to the state through their efforts to accomplish consumer credit reform.
