Rachel Cunningham, a senior at Spain Park High School, is commended for outstanding athletic achievement in swimming.

Cunningham was the AHSAA State Champion in the 100-yard breaststroke in December 2016 and holds multiple team records including the 100-yard breaststroke, 200 Individual Medley, and 200 Medley Relay.

Her swimming career achievements include 2015 State Champion in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard Individual Medley, second place in the 2013 State Meet 100-yard breaststroke, 2016 Olympic Trial Qualifier, and 2014-2015 U.S.A. Swimming Scholastic All-American selection.

Cunningham competes year-round with the Birmingham YMCA as a member of U.S.A. Swimming, qualifies for Junior and Senior National Meets, and competed in the 200-meter breaststroke at the 2016 Olympic Trials.

She has committed to continue her swimming career at San Diego State University as a member of the Aztecs swimming team.
