Recognizes six Decatur Police Department officers as nominees for the 2017 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement: Officers Miles Livingston, Byron Hall, Timothy Jackson, and Cody Southwood, Sergeant John Harris, and Lieutenant Ward.

Commends the officers for their extraordinary courage during an early morning apartment fire on March 5 at 2801 Sandlin Road SW that spread rapidly through Building B.

Officers evacuated multiple residents from smoke-filled apartments, including Officer Southwood rescuing a two-year-old child from a family whose apartment caught fire.

Directs that the officers receive a copy of the resolution as recognition of their demonstrated courage, diligence, and commitment to protecting and serving Decatur residents.
