Recognizes Corporal Toliver and Officer Leonard of the Irondale Police Department as nominees for the 2017 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

On June 9, 2016, both officers responded to a suspicious person call at a shopping center parking lot and pursued a suspect who fled in a vehicle, dragged Officer Leonard across the parking lot, and eventually crashed into another vehicle.

The suspect fled on foot and pulled a gun on Corporal Toliver; both officers fired their duty weapons and shot the suspect, who died at the scene.

The House of Representatives honors the officers for their extraordinary courage, diligence, and quick response in a life-threatening situation that protected public safety.

Directs that the officers receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
