Commends Dr. Ella Bertha Joseph Bowman Jones for 81 years of dedication to Music Ministry at First Baptist Church Graymont in Birmingham, Alabama, celebrated on April 23, 2017.

Recognizes her musical service beginning at an early age, serving as choir accompanist at age 12, and becoming Minister of Music as an adult, remaining Minister of Music Emeritus at age 93.

Acknowledges her educational credentials including a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Alabama A and M University, Master of Science Degree in Education from Alabama State University, and studies in Counseling at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Honors her professional career as an Adjunct Professor at Simmons Baptist Bible College (1997-1998), teacher in Birmingham City Schools (1957-1982) and Montevallo High School (1943-1948), and business owner of Bowman's Groceteria and Vice President of BOMAC Exterminating Company since 1980.

Recognizes her community involvement including establishment of a scholarship fund at Birmingham Easonian Baptist Bible College in honor of her father and her memberships in the National Education Association, American Education Association, NAACP, and Gospel Music Workshop of America.
