The House of Representatives commends Sharon Landis for exceptional professional achievement and service upon her retirement.

Mrs. Landis holds a music performance degree from The University of Alabama and performed for 25 years with the Lyric String Quartet, plus orchestral participation with multiple symphonies including Meridian, Starkeville, Shoals, and Huntsville symphonies.

Mrs. Landis taught theory, violin, and clarinet at The University of Alabama and served as Executive Director of the Decatur Youth Symphony from 2012-2017, while also teaching children's choirs, private violin lessons, and community music classes.

Mrs. Landis has performed extensively for local churches as organist and music director at The Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal and Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Trussville.

The resolution conveys the legislature's highest esteem and best wishes to Mrs. Landis as she begins her retirement.
