Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is honored and commended on the occasion of its 104th Anniversary Celebration in May 2017.

The church was established in May 1913 due to rapid growth in Pritchard, Alabama, and was organized by Reverend A.A. Jackson, Reverend and Mrs. A.L. Diamond, and other community members including the Grant and Bridges families.

The congregation has been led by 24 ministers of the gospel over the years and has produced 13 ministers including Reverends A.C. Reed, Johnnie Crumpton, John Jingles, Cleon Roberts, James Allen, Paul Whiteurs, Malone Smith Jr., David Richardson, Milton Parsons, Maria Gibbs, Kenith Jefferson, Melinda Young, and Dr. Malone D. Smith.

Under the current leadership of Reverend John P. Gant, the church has enriched countless lives through its ministry and will continue to serve as a beacon of light and pillar of faith in the community.
