Recognizes Central School in Madison County on its 100-year centennial anniversary during the 2017-2018 school year.

Originated in 1916-1917 when communities of Ryland, Maysville, and Brownsboro consolidated three one-room schoolhouses into a central high school built on five acres of land donated by Ben Lawler, Sr.

Opened November 5, 1917, and expanded significantly, reaching 390 students by 1922; the school was destroyed by fire twice (March 1, 1931 and December 30, 1981) but was rebuilt both times.

Merged with Brownsboro Junior High School in 1979, integrated student body in 1967-1968, and added a middle school wing and library in 1998; gym named in honor of Coach Ralph C. Champion in 1984.

Alabama House of Representatives commends the patrons, administration, faculty, staff, and students of Central School for their academic achievements and extends best wishes for future success.
