Mourns the death of Mr. Gerald Cargile Poe of Attalla, Alabama, who died on April 13, 2017.

Honors his service in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

Recognizes his distinguished careers as captain of both the Orange Beach Police Department and the Gadsden Police Department, and his membership in The Tabernacle Church, Fraternal Order of Police, and The Vietnam Veterans Association.

Lists survivors including his wife of 52 years, Patricia "Pat" Studdard Poe; two children; nine grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

Expresses gratitude for his life and legacy while offering sympathy to his family and friends.
