• Commends Team 10740J "The Mighty Midgets" from Oak Mountain Intermediate School and Team 10740G "The Nerd Herd" from Oak Mountain Middle School for their achievements in the 2017 VEX IQ Worlds Robotics Competition held April 23-25, 2017 in Louisville, Kentucky.

• The Mighty Midgets earned the Design Award for the Elementary School Math Division, and the Nerd Herd earned the Teamwork Challenge in the Middle School Science Division while competing against 750 other elementary and middle school teams.

• The Nerd Herd competed in the finals match and achieved a ranking of sixth in the world.

• Team members recognized: Mighty Midgets include Carter Austin, Mabrey Whitehead, Alivia Wylie, and Rebecca Tautkus; Nerd Herd include Khaled Zuaiter, Ismael Choucha, Aaron Pendry, Cade May, and Henry Meads.
