Commends the Mountain Brook Boys Varsity Tennis Team for winning the 2017 AHSAA Class 7A State Championship, their 3rd consecutive championship and 26th state championship overall.

Team scored 51 total points at the championship, significantly exceeding second place McGill-Toolen which had 27 points.

Recognizes senior players David Faulkner, Peter Hartman, Paul Jones, Chase Robinett, and John Darby, plus team members Alva Caine, William Watts, Andrew Karcher, Cars Chandler, Stuart Phelan, Haskins Jones, Zachary Lewis, Jonathan Wheeler, and Harrison Hitson.

Head Coach Susan Farlow and assistant coach Wally Nall, who have coached for 10 years and accumulated 10 state championships during that time, are credited with expert guidance and leadership.

During the 2017 season, the team finished first in their Section without losses in singles or doubles, won the Weinacker Tournament at Birmingham Southern College, and placed second in the Southeastern Rotary Tournament in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
