Commends the Madison County Elementary School Greenpower Team for winning first place in the F24 Middle School Division at the Greenpower Grand Prix National Finals held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 1, 2017.

Greenpower is a STEM-based program requiring students to engineer an electric car powered by two 12-volt batteries to complete a 90-minute race.

The team's car achieved the fastest lap with a time of six minutes and 18 seconds and traveled the greatest distance to win the Middle School Division.

Team members recognized include William Holder, Daniel Hicks, Josh Pugh, Xavier Sullivan, Josiah Thompson, Steven Hermes, Maggie Leonard, Cody Peper, Cordell Jackson, and Evan Hill, with teacher Mary Beth Boyett providing leadership and guidance.

The House of Representatives honors and commends the team for their extraordinary achievements that reflect credit upon their school, families, and community.
