Tennessee Valley Jazz Society will present its 32nd annual Jazz-N-June Festival June 15-17, 2017, showcasing musical and artistic events celebrating African American Gospel music, Blues, and Classic Jazz.

Elizabeth Sloan Ragland, a major arts supporter in Madison County who died March 10, 2017, helped bring world-renowned artists including NEA Jazz Master Marian McPartland, Richie Cole, and Roy Ayers to the Tennessee Valley.

Over 32,500 local students, faculty, and staff participated in the Jazz Education is Cool Program since 1998 through TVJS and Mrs. Ragland's support.

The 2017 Jazz-N-June Festival will be dedicated to Mrs. Ragland's memory and service to the community.

Oakwood University will host the inaugural Elizabeth Sloan Ragland Multicultural Unity Celebration on June 22, 2017, featuring a symposium on African American Gospel music and performances by area churches.
