SB102 Summary

• The Commissioner of the Department of Corrections, in coordination with the Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency, shall establish a program to issue nondriver identification cards to resident parolees upon their release from prison.

• The agencies shall promulgate rules to establish this program by January 1 of the year following the effective date of the act.

• The nondriver identification card serves as identification purposes only for parolees without a valid Alabama driver's license.

• The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
