AL SB119

Allows persons charged or convicted as youthful offenders to petition the criminal division of circuit court in their county to expunge their criminal record.

Prohibits expungement of records for youthful offenders who are treated as adult sex offenders pursuant to Section 15-20A-35.

Requires youthful offenders petitioning for expungement to comply with all other procedures and requirements in Chapter 15-27 relating to criminal record expungement.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
