Parties aggrieved by final judgments or decisions of a board of zoning adjustment must appeal directly to the circuit court within 15 days.

Appellants are required to provide the board with a written notice of appeal specifying the judgment or decision being appealed.

Upon receiving written notice of appeal, the board must certify a transcript of proceedings to the circuit court hearing the appeal.

Appeals to the circuit court are tried de novo (completely new review without deference to the board's original decision).

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
