SB14 Summary

• Amends Section 12-19-43, Code of Alabama 1975, to allow probate court fees to be collected at the court's discretion when a pleading is filed, rather than only at termination of suit.

• Fees for transcripts of papers filed in cases remain due when the service is performed, and no fee except for final record shall be demanded unless the service has been performed.

• Authorizes probate courts to order security deposits be deposited to cover expected court costs in appropriate cases, with unused deposits returned to the depositor.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
