Exempts agricultural work dogs from state and local leash and restraint laws when the dog is actively engaged in agricultural work.

Defines agricultural work dog as any dog trained to herd or protect livestock or otherwise assist in agricultural work and that has been or is actually used for such purposes.

Exempts hunting dogs trained to hunt wild game with a handler from leash and restraint requirements.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.

Passed the Alabama Senate on May 9, 2017 with a vote of 28 Yeas and 3 Nays.
