Lowndes County Sheriff receives an additional annual expense allowance of $10,000 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund.

The $10,000 expense allowance may be treated as compensation for retirement contributions and is in addition to all other existing allowances and salary.

Beginning with the sheriff's next term of office, the annual salary shall be increased by $10,000 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund.

The expense allowance provisions become null and void once the salary increase takes effect at the next term of office.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
