AL SB265

Increases the Board of Pardons and Paroles membership from three to five members appointed by the Governor with Senate advice and consent.

Sets annual compensation for all board members at $60,000, paid in equal installments from the State Treasury.

Requires board members to be appointed to reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state.

Changes the quorum requirement from two members to three members for conducting official board business.

Clarifies that when the Senate is not in session, gubernatorial appointments must be submitted no later than the fifth legislative day following the reconvening of the Legislature at the next regular session.
