• Waives prelicensing course and examination requirements for independent adjuster license applicants who hold a certification from a commissioner-approved person or entity with examination requirements substantially equivalent to Alabama's standards.

• Applicants must provide evidence of current certification from the approved certifying organization to qualify for the waiver.

• Waives continuing education requirements for licensed independent adjusters who hold a certification from a commissioner-approved organization with continuing education requirements substantially equivalent to Alabama's standards.

• Amends sections 27-9A-9 and 27-9A-13 of the Alabama Code to add these certification-based exemptions to existing exemptions for out-of-state licensees, previously licensed adjusters, and long-term insurance company employees.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
