• Appropriates $15,089,140 from the Education Trust Fund Advancement and Technology Fund to public institutions of higher education for facility repairs, deferred maintenance, facility insurance, and education technology and equipment purchases for fiscal year ending September 30, 2017.

• Appropriates $41,297,782 from the Education Trust Fund Advancement and Technology Fund to the Department of Education, Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, Board of Youth Services School Districts, Alabama School of Fine Arts, and Alabama School of Math and Science for facility repairs, classroom instructional support, facility insurance, transportation, and technology purchases for fiscal year ending September 30, 2017.

• Allocates funds to local school systems with 50% of appropriated funds directed to systems that have not yet provided devices, wireless connectivity, or trainer training programs.

• Requires State Superintendent of Education approval before expenditure of funds appropriated to the Department of Education.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
