SB349 Summary

• Deletes the existing exemption that allowed out-of-state licensed prosthetists, orthotists, and pedorthists to perform services in Alabama for 60 days per 12-month period after notifying the board.

• Adds a new exemption permitting certified or licensed clinicians from other states to provide prosthetic, orthotic, or pedorthic services at meetings of the Alabama Prosthetic & Orthotic Association (APOA) or similar organizations and at board-approved training events.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
