SB374 Summary

• Allows Lowndes County Board of Education members to receive $1,000 per month in compensation upon passage of a majority resolution by the board, replacing any other compensation, salary, or expense allowances provided by law.

• Compensation shall be paid from the same source and in the same manner as current board member compensation and expense allowances.

• Compensation becomes effective on the first of the month following board passage of the resolution authorizing it.

• The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval, or upon otherwise becoming law.
