Honors John Phillip Johnston of Brundidge, Alabama, who died on August 26, 2016, after battling cancer and served six years in the Alabama National Guard.

Recognizes Johnston's 26-year career teaching senior high school English, Government, and Economics in Louisville, Alabama.

Acknowledges Johnston's leadership as past President of the Pike County Historical and Genealogical Society and his work surveying graves in Pike County cemeteries.

Names a portion of Highway 93 the John Philip Johnston Highway in recognition of Johnston's community service, including over a decade of roadside cleanup after his retirement.

Expresses condolences to Johnston's surviving family: his wife of 46 years Diane Mathews, two daughters, four grandchildren, one sister, and two brothers.
