Commends Chris and Elizabeth Langley of Langley Farms in Chambers County, Alabama, for being recognized as Alabama's 2017 Farm of Distinction at the Farm-City Awards in Birmingham.

Langley Farms was selected from six finalists and earned $12,000 in cash and prizes for the honor.

Langley Farms operates three mechanized logging crews and manages a 320-cow commercial beef herd on 2,650 acres of timber, hay, and grazing land.

Langley Farms will represent Alabama in the Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year Contest at the Sunbelt Ag Expo on October 17-19, 2017, in Moultrie, Georgia.

Legislature honors the Langleys as role models in agriculture and offers appreciation for their significant contributions to the Alabama agricultural industry.
