Establishes a Joint Legislative Committee to Study Self-Driving Vehicles composed of 5 Alabama Senate members appointed by the Senate President Pro Tempore and 5 House members appointed by the Speaker of the House.

Committee appointments must reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban, rural, and economic diversity of the state.

Committee shall study all aspects of self-driving vehicles with specific focus on public safety and state and local economic impact, and assess how existing state legislation may affect testing of automated vehicles.

Committee shall report findings and any proposed legislation to the Speaker of the House and Senate President Pro Tempore no later than the 30th legislative day of the 2018 Regular Session, after which it shall dissolve.

Committee members shall receive regular legislative compensation, per diem, and travel expenses in accordance with Amendment 871 of the Alabama Constitution of 1901.
