HB108 Summary

• Requires all future concealed pistol permits issued in Alabama to contain a color, laminated identification photograph of the permittee.

• Permits must be generated in electronic or digital form prescribed by the Secretary of State in consultation with the Alabama Sheriff's Association and include the permittee's name, address, description, and signature.

• Authorizes sheriffs to reasonably adjust permit fees commensurate with the production costs of concealed pistol permits containing the color photograph requirement.

• Requires persons holding valid concealed pistol permits at the time of enactment to obtain a permit with a laminated identification photograph upon expiration of their current permit.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
