K-12 public school teachers may teach about religion using the Bible or other scripture for secular study of religious history, comparative religions, the Bible as literature, religion's role in history, and religious influences on art, music, literature, and social studies without providing religious instruction.

Teachers may teach about religious holidays, including their religious aspects, and celebrate the secular aspects of holidays.

The bill specifies that instruction must be about religion rather than religious instruction promoting specific faiths.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
