Amends Section 16-24C-11 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify employment termination requirements for K-12 teachers.

Removes the 30-calendar-day notice restriction for postsecondary education employees, making the requirement applicable only to public K-12 teachers.

Increases the notice period required for public K-12 teachers to terminate employment at any time other than 30 days before the school term from 5 days to 30 days written notice.

Maintains the prohibition on K-12 teachers terminating employment within 30 calendar days before the first day of the next school term for students, unless mutually agreed upon.

Classifies violation of termination notice requirements as unprofessional conduct, subject to revocation or suspension of teaching certificate by the State Superintendent of Education.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
