HB150 Summary

• All state employees in classified and unclassified service, plus legislative personnel, county health department employees, and court officials receive a 3% salary increase effective the first pay day on or after October 1, 2018.

• Cost-of-living increase does not apply to local supplements for judges, employees whose salaries are tied to state employees, appellate judges, or employees covered by labor agreements or contracts.

• State Personnel Department Director, Administrative Director of Courts, and legislative leaders (Senate Secretary, House Clerk, and Legislative Services Agency Director) shall revise and certify updated pay schedules to the state Comptroller for warrant issuance.

• Appropriations required by the act are not made directly but shall be included in the annual budget act for affected entities.

• The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon becoming law.
