• Imposes a $45 booking fee on each person booked into Henry County Jail and subsequently convicted of a crime.

• Fee is assessed by the court clerk upon conviction, entered on the docket sheet, and collected in the same manner and time as court costs, but is not classified as a court cost.

• Distributes revenues as follows: $20 to Henry County Sheriff's Office, $15 to Henry County Commission Jail Fund for jail operations, and $10 to Henry County Circuit Clerk Fund for office operations.

• Sheriff may withhold funds from incarcerated persons equal to the booking fee amount to apply toward payment; if no conviction results, withheld amounts must be repaid to the defendant after dismissal or acquittal.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
