• Removes specific race requirements from the Alabama Board of Funeral Service membership regulations that were found to violate the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

• Deletes the requirement that "not more than five members of the entire membership of the board be of the same race" and "both consumer members be of the same race."

• Deletes the requirement that the chair and vice chair may not be of the same race.

• Deletes the requirement that the executive director and associate executive director shall not be of the same race.

• Retains a directive that appointing authorities coordinate appointments to assure board membership reflects the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state.
