HB24 Summary

• Requires local boards of education to post personnel vacancy notices on the board website at a minimum, or in a conspicuous place at each school campus and worksite, at least seven calendar days before the position is to be filled.

• Reduces the required posting period from 14 calendar days to 7 calendar days for personnel vacancies occurring during the school session.

• Maintains the 14-calendar-day posting requirement for supervisory, managerial, or newly created positions regardless of when the vacancy occurs.

• Vacancy notices must include job description, required qualifications, salary schedule, application submission information, application deadlines, and any other relevant information.

• Allows boards to delay posting notices only temporarily during dire emergency circumstances to address student safety and welfare concerns.
