• Amends Section 38-9-2 of the Alabama Code to revise outdated language in the definition of "protected person" under the Adult Protective Services Act of 1976.

• Replaces the term "senile" with "with Alzheimer's disease or dementia" when describing persons eligible for protective services.

• Eliminates the separate definition of "senility" as organic brain damage caused by advanced age or physical illness.

• Renumbers subsequent definitions to reflect the removal of the "senility" definition, shifting definitions (21)-(22) to (20)-(21).

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
