Authorizes the City of Muscle Shoals in Colbert County to increase the special ad valorem tax rate for public school purposes from 7.5 mills ($.75 per $100) to a maximum of 12.5 mills ($1.25 per $100) of assessed value.

The tax increase is authorized pursuant to Amendment No. 373 to the Alabama Constitution and is based on a City Council resolution.

The proposed increase of 5 mills must be approved by a majority of qualified electors in Muscle Shoals voting at a special election called for that purpose.

The current special tax rate was established through elections held on December 9, 1957, April 7, 1987, and April 28, 2015.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
