HB32 Summary

• Amends Alabama Code sections 35-8B-1 and 35-8B-3 to create an additional class of community development district defined as privately owned property with a marina and boat storage facility with at least 150 spaces, a shipstore with at least 2,200 square feet, and adjacent to a lake of at least 100,000 acres.

• Authorizes sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages in this new district type for both on-premises and off-premises consumption any day of the week upon approval by the district's board of control and proper licensing by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

• Prohibits off-premises licensees from limiting sales based on membership to any club or marina.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
