• State Board of Health shall establish licensure fees for EMS personnel by rule, rather than fixed fees of $10 for individual personnel and $25 for provider services.

• EMS personnel licenses valid for 24 calendar months; provider service licenses valid for no more than 12 calendar months.

• Ground ambulance drivers must hold a valid driver's license and pass the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course, Apparatus Operator's Course, or Emergency Vehicle Driver Course.

• Board of Health may obtain fingerprint-based state and national criminal history background checks from Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency and FBI for initial EMS license applicants, with applicants paying all associated costs.

• Board shall establish by rule a policy determining which criminal convictions would disqualify an applicant from EMS licensure; conviction data is privileged and not a public record.
