HB349 Summary

• Amends Section 32-6-212 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to authorize boat manufacturers and dealers to issue temporary license plates and registration certificates for boat trailers when boats are sold out of state.

• Extends temporary license plate authority to manufacturers and dealers of semi-trailers and utility trailers for out-of-state sales.

• Standardizes bond requirements across all manufacturers and dealers issuing temporary plates by referencing Section 40-12-398, eliminating the need for duplicate bonds if already obtained under Sections 32-8-34, 32-20-22, or 40-12-398.

• Allows manufacturers and dealers to perform duties through officers or employees in addition to personally issuing temporary licenses.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
