• Proposes a local constitutional amendment for Lawrence County to establish a "Sheriff's Prisoner Food Fund" as a separate account in the county treasury for all allowances received by the sheriff for feeding prisoners.

• Authorizes excess funds in the Prisoner Food Fund beyond amounts needed for prisoner meals to be used by the sheriff for law enforcement purposes and office operations.

• Permits funds to carry over from year to year, and if additional amounts are needed for prisoner feeding, the sheriff shall pay from other unrestricted office operation funds.

• Exempts the sheriff from competitive bid requirements for purchasing food and supplies used to feed prisoners in the county jail.

• Provides that effective with the next term of office, the Lawrence County Sheriff shall receive the same salary as the Judge of Probate of Lawrence County.
