Day care centers must provide educational information about influenza disease to parents or legal guardians of enrolled children no later than September 1 annually.

Required educational materials must include causes and symptoms of influenza, transmission methods, associated risks, vaccine availability and effectiveness, known vaccine contraindications, and latest vaccine recommendations from the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

Day care centers are not required to provide or pay for any influenza vaccinations under this requirement.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
