AL HJR15

Designates a portion of State Highway 77 in Calhoun County as the Tracy Sanders Memorial Highway, extending from the Talladega County/Calhoun County line near mile marker 82 to its intersection with State Highway 144 near mile marker 91.

Honors Tracy Sanders, a lifelong Mount Olive Community resident who joined the Mount Olive Volunteer Fire Department in 2006 and became Chief in 2011.

Recognizes that Tracy Sanders was killed in the line-of-duty on January 13, 2017, when the Mount Olive Volunteer Fire Department rescue truck she was driving was struck from behind on State Highway 77 near Ohatchee.

Directs appropriate officials to place and maintain signs or markers designating the memorial highway.

Adopted by the House on January 11, 2018, and by the Senate on February 1, 2018.
