Recognizes and congratulates the Republic of Korea for hosting the 2018 XXIII Winter Olympic Games (February 9-25, 2018) and XII Winter Paralympic Games (March 9-18, 2018) in PyeongChang.

Notes that Korea is hosting the Winter Olympic Games for the first time in 30 years since the 1988 Seoul Olympics, with 102 events across 15 sport disciplines and over 100 gold medals.

Acknowledges the approximately 240-member United States Olympic Team and United States Paralympic Team participation across Alpine Skiing, Nordic Skiing, Sled Hockey, Snowboarding, and Wheelchair Curling.

Recognizes Christa Springs of Wetumpka, Alabama and John Zimmerman, IV, of Homewood, Alabama as coaches at the PyeongChang games.

Expresses hope that these events will contribute to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and directs distribution of the resolution to Alabama-Korean organizations and Korean associations.
