Recognizes Command Sergeant Major Bennie G. Adkins, an Opelika, Alabama resident, for receiving the Medal of Honor in 2014 from President Barack Obama.

Honors Adkins for his valor as an Intelligence Sergeant with Detachment A-102, 5th Special Forces Group during combat operations at Camp A Shau, Republic of Vietnam from March 9-12, 1966.

Acknowledges his heroic actions including manning a mortar position under intense enemy fire, carrying wounded soldiers to safety, and eliminating between 135 and 175 enemy soldiers while sustaining 18 different wounds.

Commends Adkins for leading his soldiers in evading enemy forces until their helicopter rescue on March 12, 1966, and expresses the state's gratitude for his efforts to preserve freedom.

House adopted the resolution on January 9, 2018, and Senate adopted it on January 11, 2018.
