Recognizes Sergeant Aurora Thomas upon his retirement from the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division for outstanding professional achievement.

Sergeant Thomas began his career as a Conservation Enforcement Officer on October 17, 1994, and was promoted to Sergeant in 2002 after serving as Barbour County Game Warden.

He is a founder of the Barbour County Wildlife Management Area Youth Hunt, the largest youth hunt in Alabama and third largest in the United States.

Sergeant Thomas contributed to the success of the DCNR Step Outside Program, Youth Fishing Rodeo, and Mentoring Future Sportsmen organization, and is affiliated with the Alabama Conservation Enforcement Officer's Association.

The Alabama Legislature honors and commends Sergeant Thomas for his dedication to law enforcement, conservation efforts, and advancing the outdoors industry.
